Before conversion, you lived a life of disobedience and sins (Ep2: 1-3) Because of this we were separated from God. We followed the desires of your flesh and gratified the longings and cravings of your sinful nature.
WHEN YOU ARE CONVERTED:
You were forgiven for your sins and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. The wonderful thing about God’s love is that when He redeems you of sin; He sets you free from it. Meaning you once were a prisoner to sin but now you are free of sin because you have chosen to live a new life in Christ Jesus. Jesus died on the cross of Calvary for your sin, so that when you receive Jesus Christ as your personal savior, sin must no longer be a part of your life. Because now you walk in Christ Jesus and in Christ there is no sin. That means your sins have been washed away and forgiven.
THEREFORE, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATION; OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW. (2 CORINTHIANS 5:17)
NOW THAT YOU ARE CONVERTED:
Now that you are saved and have given your life to Jesus Christ. There is no question, if you have truly trusted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, God will give you a full and satisfying life both in this life and the life to come.
“BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US. (ROMANS 5:8)
When Jesus died on the cross for your sin, He paid the price so that you don’t have to face eternal death. He died as your substitute.
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. (JOHN 3:16)
- We must make sure that we keep our faith in Jesus Christ and that our faith is genuine and real.
- But how can we know whether or not we have saving faith?
- Saving faith is not just believing the fact that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world.
- Saving faith is not just believing the words and claims of Jesus Christ, you have to know it in your heart 100 %.
The right KIND OF FAITH, saving faith, is two things:
Firstly, saving faith is BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST, i.e., believing in who and what He is, that He truly is the Son of God, the Savior, and the Lord of your life. It is believing that Christ died in your place for your sins on the cross and He rose again. (1 Corinthians 15: 3-4)
Secondly, saving faith is the SURRENDER OF YOUR LIFE TO JESUS CHRIST. It is the surrender to live for Christ and to obey him. To walk righteously as you walk through life day by day. Anything less is not true saving faith. True saving faith is obedience to Gods Holy Word.
AND HAVING BEEN PERFECTED, HE BECAME THE SOURCE OF ETERNAL SALVATION TO ALL WHO OBEY HIM.” (HEBREWS 5:9)
